Legend of the Condor Heroes 射雕英雄传 is a 2017 television series based on the first part of the Condor Trilogy, an epic multi-layered story that balances fact and fiction to create a martial arts-verse of noble heroes and swordsmen.
If you are looking to explore the wuxia genre, I highly recommend LOCH since it serves as the precursor to Return of the Condor Heroes and Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber, two absolute classics.
A series this well-known often invites criticism though most would hardly know where to begin given the cast of unfamiliar faces. Having seen Li Yi Tong's performance in Demon Girl, I can understand why she landed the role of the spunky and witty fireball that is Huang Rong.
Yang Xu Wen on the other hand might take some convincing but he was quite charismatic in Legend of Chusen. Even so, Guo Jing always seemed to be a character that is an oxymoron of sorts, dim-witted yet capable and portraying his squareness while turning up the charm might end up being harder than it seems.
